The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will be representing the party in the Edo Governorship Election slated for September.
This was after a ratification of the party primaries by the National Executive Committee (NEC) in its ongoing meeting at the State House in Abuja.
The NEC meeting, presided over by President Buhari, affirmed Iyamu’s emergence as the party’s candidate and directed the immediate submission of his name to INEC in compliance with electoral guidelines.
Furthermore, to avoid complication, the NEC has also directed all party members and stakeholders alike to withdraw all court cases and commit to unification efforts meant to secure victory for the party at the polls.
Other decisions taken at the meeting includes the dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) to be replaced by a Caretaker Committee chaired by His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State.
