WHY KAYODE SALAKO IS BEST FOR OSHODI/ISOLO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

I AM ONE OF YOU!

This coming general elections, shouldn’t be about those candidates of political parties, who live outside the country to come contest elections at home as usual, or strange people that are imposed on us by our political parties, or party leaders, but what the people rightfully deserve, this time, from their electoral choices after the elections.

Some of the mistakes of the past that we often make, is voting for people, who do not know the people, or have pycho-emotional connections with them and their needs to represent them in government at every election period.

When you vote for people, who come from America, or Canada, for example, to lead, or represent you, you may be making a choice in representatives, who do not truly know you, and may never have that true emotional connections with who you are, and what your needs of them should be in office.

And, that is why many of them, get to government, and cannot truly relate, associate, or connect with the people, who deserve to be appropriately taken care of by them, or ideally meet the yearnings, needs and expectations of their people.

One of the reasons many national assembly representatives of political constituencies, end of failing in performance, or what the people expect of them, is simply because, the people they represent do not know them, and they do not know their people too well enough.

They do not know what they truly need, and the people on their own part, may always find it difficult to have access to them, once they win their elections and get to office.

There is no natural connection between them, and what they ideally expect of them in service.

You can’t be voting the same way, or for the same ‘strange’ people all of the time, and continue to expect your government, or your representatives to serve you differently, or satisfyingly better.

It would always be the same old same way of governing your aspirations – You may, perhaps, always be disappointed as usual in those ‘strange’ abberations they can always offer in service to the constituency.

And, that is why things have not really changed from the way we expect it to be in Nigeria over time.

That is why things are still the same way from the way we expect it to be.

That is why our situations are still the same in Nigeria.

Just because, we vote to elect wrong people, who are imposed on our electoral choices, or strangers, who do not know us, and we do not know for their intentions.

This time, we can truly make the changes we deserve by voting for the home-based able and capable representatives you know, and who know you.

I am an home-based aspirant, who know the people, and the people know me.

I have been a politically involved; active player and consistent actor in the politics of my constituency, and by extension, in Lagos State, where I have lived all my politically conscious life for many years.

I had my primary, secondary and university school life here within the environment of Oshodi/Isolo.

– Saint Paul’s primary school; Mafoluku Grammar School and University of Lagos (UNILAG) to be precise.

This is where I have lived and worked as an educationist for about 45 years. This is where I have earned a responsible living, since when I was a child.

I am Rotn. Olukayode Ezekiel Salako (51 years old). I am the proprietor of Bosworth College International in Ewu Town here. I am a Paul Haris Fellow Rotarian; a scout/the Lagos State patron of the Airscout council; a film producer; successful business investor and responsibly married to Foluke Daramola-Salako, the veteran Nollywood actress and movie producer.

I am the candidate of the Labour Party, the emergent 3rd force political platform options for Nigerians in this month’s National Assembly election in Nigeria.

I didn’t come from America to contest in order to represent my people in Oshodi/Isolo like the candidates of some other political parties that some of us know.

I know the people, and the people know me. I know the terrain of the constituency – its situation and needs.

I have a blueprint of what to do, and how to take care of my constituency and its people, when I am lucky to be elected as the national assembly representative of the constituency in the next parliament in Nigeria.

I am an home-based grassroots personality in the community, and when I have the opportunity to serve, I do not have any choice, than to do well for the general well being of my constituency as its national assembly representative.

However, if you want to lead the people, or represent them in government, you have to, first of all, be someone, who live and survive in their midst.

You have to be a needy in their needs, who also need to be positively impacted by the service of government.

That is when you can truly connect with their yearnings, and who they are, as well as, what they expect of you from their representation.

That is when you can truly build the right value for them, through the opportunity they have given to you to serve them.

If the candidate you are voting for lives abroad, but comes home to contest to serve, during every election circle period in the country, he might not truly build the right value for the association, relationship and opportunity, because the true and natural connection is not just there for him to manifest as expected in service.

Unfortunately, the man might not know you, and you won’t expect he should truly know you as your representative in service.

If he doesn’t know you, or the yearnings of your constituency, he doesn’t just know, and you can’t blame him, because he doesn’t live, or operate politically here, or in your midst.

You should know he lives in America. And when he his done, he goes back to where he comes from. He is only here to solicit for your votes for him to win his election.

That’s all!

And, that is one of the reasons the so-called strange/abroad people we vote in, to represent us in government, end up failing the expectations of the people.

You are not his friend, before you voted for him. You might not be someone he would really want to know, when he is in office. He doesn’t really have an idea of who you are, and what your critical needs of him truly are in his consciousness.

So, he can’t truly have that expected pshyco-emotional attachment with you, when he is in office.

This election time, it should be about the people we know. It shouldn’t just be about voting for anybody, because he is our party man, or our party is forcing you to do so.

It should be about who you know, lest we continue to groan and suffer in silence as usual.

That is when they will truly know you, for the rewarding service and connections, when they get to government.

Nigerians have been saying this election is going to be more about who they know, regardless of which party the candidates are contesting from.

This time, that is the way it should go.

Note, however, that, I am not saying all abroad Nigerians, who come to contest at home are not mentally capable, or good for the job, what some of them may not have with the people and their constituencies, is the right and expected connections to relate, or associate properly with their yearnings.

That may be the situation of why our people have been complaining and lamenting in today’s Oshodi from the current representation, may be!

I am Olukayode Salako.

My people know me, and I know them.

When I am lucky to win my election to represent Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency 1 in this month’s election, I will do well for my people, because I am one of them.

Vote for Rotn. Olukayode Ezekiel Salako, he is the man you know. He is one of you.

He has the wherewithal of social experiencial charisma; ideal humane conscience; astute mental capability; untainted pedigree and anticeedants; ideal ability, and unique ideas to give Oshodi/Isolo constituency 1 the best representation ever.

Vote to experience brilliant and second-to-none representation in the history of our constituency.

I am one of you, and Peter Gregory Obi is the presidential candidate of my party.

When I win; you win!
Our constituency wins!
Oshodi/Isolo constituency 1 wins!

Vote SLK as the next MHR in Oshodi/Isolo constituency 1.

I will do well for you!

That is my ‘scout’ promise.

Vote my Labour Party.

Yours OBI-DIENTLY,
Olukayode Ezekiel Salako (Rotn.)
