Lagos International Film Festival, onceptualized in 2003 is Nollywood’s oldest independent film festival presented exclusively by Energio Media Nigeria Ltd in partnership with key stakeholder groups that include ; Nigerian Film Corporation , Film Producers Multipurpose Cooperative Society ( registered with LASG ) , Guild of Elite Motion Picture Creators and International Federation of African Audiovisual Professionals IFAAP Accra , Ghana . This year’s edition will hold from August 30th – September 2nd , 2023 at Sky Cinemas , Lekki /Epe Expressway with the theme “ Beyond Convergence: The Imperatives For Partnerships “.
The 2021 edition was presented with support from the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS, Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Bank of Industry BOI, Keystone Bank amongst others . The grand prize was carted away by Paul Wilo of Zambia with the movie ” Maria Kristu “. LIFF will celebrate the 7th art and the true; professionals of cinema whose sweat and vision have shaped the course of human existence for close to a century and a half.
The festival will be an eclectic mix of screenings , conferences ,award ceremonies , beach parties and other fun packed events beamed to the world through local and international media .The event will attract Film Practitioners , intending Practitioners , film Lovers , Investors , government officials and the general public.
