Speaking with journalists during the celebration, the highly sought-after surgeon and Senior Prophetess of Yahweh of Mercy Sabbath Mission urged Nigerians to be courageous and strong in the New Year. Quoting from Isaiah 52:1, Dr. Prophetess Mercy admonished citizens to arise in strength and faith in order to weather the storms and eventualities that may accompany the year 2026. She further encouraged Nigerians to seek spiritual fortification, noting that spiritual preparedness is essential for overcoming life’s challenges.
In her remarks, Dr. Prophetess Mercy explained her faith stance as a Jewish believer, clarifying that she does not celebrate Christmas. She elucidated that Christmas, according to her belief, does not represent the actual birth of Jesus Christ, but rather commemorates a historical event in which a king released a prisoner named Joachim. She emphasized the importance of understanding faith from a scriptural and historical perspective.
