Fountain of Treasures Assembly has announced the commencement of its annual fasting and prayer program, a 7 Days of Supernatural Release tagged “Dominance 2026,” as part of spiritual preparations to usher in the new year begging from Monday, 5th January through Sunday 11th January, 2026.
Making the announcement, the Senior Pastor of the church, Apostle Austin O. Peters, emphasized that it is expedient for believers to commit the year into the hands of God through dedicated fasting and prayer, noting that spiritual alignment is key to prevailing in the year ahead.
Taking his text from Isaiah 58:3–8, Apostle Austin taught extensively on the essence of fasting and how to engage it for tangible results. He explained that fasting is not a mere religious exercise but a spiritual tool that positions believers for divine intervention, clarity, and release.
The man of God outlined key procedures for an effective fast, urging members to:
Fast with clear spiritual focus
Study and meditate on the Word of God
Engage in heartfelt praise and worship
Pray using the Word of God
Listen to spirit-edifying gospel music
He further admonished the congregation to fast with wisdom, stressing that it is not the length of the fast that guarantees results, but one’s commitment to the Word of God during and after the fast.
According to Apostle Austin, “Only one genuine encounter with the Lord is enough to guarantee a meaningful and victorious life throughout the year.” He encouraged participants to seek intimacy with God rather than mere endurance.
Addressing those on medication, the Senior Pastor advised them to eat as required, take their medications responsibly, and maintain a solemn spiritual disposition. He urged such individuals to yield themselves to meditation in the Word of God, pray frequently, and abstain from the works of the flesh during the period.
Responding to questions on whether fasting is compulsory before God intervenes in situations, Apostle Austin provided biblical insight from Matthew 17:15–21, explaining that while God is sovereign, certain situations require deeper spiritual engagement through prayer and fasting to secure lasting victory.
