Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Sunday posted 556 confirmed new cases of Coronavirus to push the tally in the country since the pandemic arrived to 36,663 infections, 15,105 recoveries and 789 deaths (11 new).
According to figures released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, Edo State topped Sunday’s chart with 104 new cases followed by Lagos, the epicenter of the disease, with 97. The FCT added 70, Benue 66 and Oyo 61. See below for a further breakdown.
The NCDC says it has tested 212, 201 samples as at July 18, 2020.
Classic International Magazine reports that the NCDC has a daily testing capacity of about three thousand samples, a mere drop in the ocean compared to Nigeria’s more than 200 million residents.
