The former governor of Akwa Ibom State and immediate past Minister of Nigeria Delta, Senator Godswill Akpabio has been elected as the Senate President of the 10th Assembly.
Akpabio defeated his closest rival, Senator Abdulazeez Yari from Zamfara State.
Godswill Akpabio scored 63 votes to emerge winner while Abdulazeez Yari scored 46 votes.
