Deeper Life Member Laments Hike In Church’s Schools, Writes Open Letter To Kumuyi

A member of Deeper Life Bible Church, Bro. Iyioku Chijioke has lamented the overbearing fees hike of Deeper Life High School from N420,000 to N700,000 while the admission fee was equally raised from 680,000 to N900,000.

Bro. Iyioku while lamenting that as a civil servant and member of the church it becomes imperative that he would no longer be able to send his son to the missionary school to fulfill his lifelong dream of schooling at Deeper Life High School, opined that both him, his wife and other members of the church who contributed immensely towards the purchase of the land and building proper finds it disheartening that members of the church labours in vein towards the project only for children of the rich from outside the church to benefit the high standard educational facility.

Bro. Iyioku further called on his father in the Lord, Pastor F. W. Kumuyi to give certain rebate to members of the church.

MY OPEN LETTER TO MY FATHER-IN-THE-LORD

The General Superintendent
Deeper Life Bible Church
*Pastor Dr. William Folorunsho KUMUYI*
15/05/2024.

Sir,
MY PASSIONATE APPEAL TO INTERVENE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF DEEPER LIFE HIGH SCHOOL

My name is Bro Iyioku Chijioke and I have been a member of the Deeper Life Bible Church since 1988.

My family and I are living in Enugu our home State and we fellowship at the Deeper Life Bible Church, Down Chime district in New Haven, Enugu, Enugu North LGA of Enugu State.

The name of my district Pastor is Arc. Cyril Akonobi while the names of my group Coordinator and our State Overseer are Pastor Ihesie and Pastor Ezenwajiofor respectively and to drive my introduction home, my district Pastor and group Coordinator both knows me and my family as committed members of the church.

Daddy sir, I am compelled to make the above explanations for the purposes of confirmation that I am a bonafide member of the church for many years standing and yet counting by the special grace of God.

I write this open letter sir, to register my disappointment and frustration that I can’t be able to send my son Iyioku Gideon Chibueze to Deeper Life High School, the school of his dream even after writing the entrance exams in March this year because of the high cost and the recent increments by the school management.

Daddy sir, I am not disappointed because of the high cost and the recent increments made by the school authority on the bases the exercise, no, but rather, I am particularly saddened that after my wife and I both contributed money through redeemed pledges, parts through which the land for the school at Nike Enugu was purchased and the school subsequently built, that I will not be able to send my son Iyioku Gideon Chibueze to this Deeper Life High School because the management who I guess mostly are members of the church have refused to be fair to members of the church regarding the high cost of the school not minding our contributions in building and equipping the school.

Daddy sir, I am saddened that since yesterday that I broke the unfortunate news to my son that because of the increments the management of the school has made on the fees; spiking the admission from #680,000 to close to #900,000 and a termly fees of #420,000 to close to #700,000, that I can’t afford sending him to the school anymore and this has broken his heart to the point that am in heavy grief like one who lost something so dear as am writing this letter.

Daddy sir, I am saddened that the leadership of the church who said that the reason why the church came about the idea of having this school is to ensure that our children, members of the church will have the opportunity of schooling in the environment where they will not be entangled with the worldly vices such as; school malpractice, cultism, fornication, etc, which are common in public Secondary Schools, have failed to make good of their promise as majority of we parents in the church can’t afford to send our children to the school we all contributed money to build and unfortunately so…

It may interest you to know my Daddy in the Lord, that my son is a children worker, a member of children choir who plays piano during children ministration in combined service or sing lead vocals or sometimes command the children choir. Unfortunately as it were, my son can no longer attend his dream school because of this latest increments because as a civil servant of low grade levels of both my wife and myself, we can’t afford him the school.

I am also trying to forgive myself for not able to grant my son his dream school where he would have continued the trajectory of being raised in godliness environment and strict human discipline by well cultured teachers and administrators.

Daddy sir, in view of the above genuine concerns I raised with utmost good faith, the following are my passionate appeal for your speedy intervention:

1. That you mandate the Deeper Life High School management board to ensure that Children of members of the church are given a substantial subsidy in the general fees paid by all.
2. That you prevail on the management of the school to start collecting half of the admission fee and termly fees for parents who are members of the church to show that we are stakeholders in the school.
3. That you see to the implementation of this my passionate appeal sir to enable my son gain admission to his dream school and the children of other parents who are in my shoes.
4. That in doing so sir, you would have fulfilled the promise made by the church leadership when the idea of building the school was conceived.
5. That giving this as your express order and authority will change the perception in the public which held that Deeper Life members have contributed money to build Deeper Life High school for children of politicians, the high and rich and non members of the church and then leaving their own children in public secondary schools where their children are daily getting entangled by those ungodly activities they preach against such as; exam malpractice, fornication, homosexuality, lexibeism, cultism, etc, which are traced to children whose parents are not born again who are dominant of those public schools.

Thank you so much Daddy for your genuine concern on the spiritual well-being of we members of the church in particular and the world in general, even as I hope that you find this letter worthy of your attention and action.

Receive the assurances of my utmost regards.

Yours son-in-the-lord,
Bro Iyioku Chijioke.
